I Wouldn't Think Twice if...

Today just dropped off the calender.

Three years ago today I started my journey with Lyme Disease. At least the portion of the journey that I am aware of enough to acknowledge.

Three years ago today I went to Jefferson Hospital's ER because I was experiencing Tingling/Numbness in my arms/hands, muscle issues, and nausea.

Three years ago today the physicians at the hospital referred me to neurology for an MRI because they assumed I had Multiple Sclerosis.

Three years ago today I stopped eating and didn't resume until 4 weeks later.

Three years ago today I started crying...

If today dropped off the calender- I wouldn't mind so much.

Especially since today I was told that my eleven year old niece *has been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia... AGAIN. She just finished oral chemo last month and was in for a routine check up this morning only to be blindsided with the news that she is again positive for Cancer.

Like I said- if today dropped off the calender... I wouldn't think about it twice.

*The link provided just connects to my post two years ago when my niece was originally diagnosed. I include it ONLY because it gives a bit more detail regarding the cancer... I thought about not including it because I was clearly not walking in a manner that chose trust over fear and or peace over controlled understanding. A mild embarrassment escorts the fact that I included that link... but I suppose we'll just chalk it up to growth!

Thanks for your prayers friends.

Oh Chelle - I'm so sorry you even have to think about this day and what it means to you and your family. Know that I am praying for you and will add your niece to the list.

oh friend, what horrible news. I will be praying for her.

Ok, so you have me onboard with you. Lets meet up in D.C. and march to have this day removed.

You both are in my prayers right this very minute.
