Geography Tutor Needed...

Sooo... last night I was sitting on the couch next to Paul while I published my Thankful Thursday post. As I "viewed blog" to make sure it posted correctly I took note of my ClustrMap. You know, the map on the side of the blog that charts all the wonderful places from where you visit...

I noticed that there were a bunch of red dots on areas I was unfamiliar. IE... on continents I couldn't name. So- I thought it smart of me to take advantage of Sir "Where-Wiz's" location and ask him where some of you are visiting from...

I wish I could say my kind and gracious husband was, well, either kind OR gracious... unfortunately he grilled me.

"Really, you don't know know this one right here?"

"Ummmm. Nope."

"Seriously, you don't know it?"

"Uhhhhh. Still no."

"No No... really- you don't know that this is Australia?"

"Yes... I know! (now that you told me... Duh!)

"And what about this one- Africa? And this one- Philippine Islands (I think that's what he said.) And this is Europe. Probably Germany... "

To which, if I'm being honest- I started hearing Charlie Brown's teacher drone away... "Whah Whah Whah Whah Whah..... Whah Whah Whah."

And so- I put this out in the blogosphere... I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE FROM. Don't be offended. It's always been a sore spot in my education. Feel free to leave me a comment telling me of your local. :0)

Ooooh... Oooohhh- case in point.... One of my best friends from highschool and I a few years ago talked about getting our families together for a vacation. She, at the time, lived in Tennessee and we lived here in Pennsylvania. As vacation talk continued she said, "Let's try to meet somewhere in the middle. " Knowing full well I lacked geographical skill... I diverted to her and this is what she then voiced to me...

"Hey, I know. Since it takes us about 12 hours to get from Tennessee to Pennsylvania- let's meet in Florida. It only takes us 6 hours to get there."

Hmmmmm. Our high school didn't serve us well now did it? A severe injustice if you ask me. Even I know in my limited geographical knowledge that we were shooting for a "Carolina"... which one however, no idea. Needless to say- that family vacation never happened.

You are so funny! FYI - I am from Michigan, you know the state that looks like a mitten? :) Actually I have a hard time with states, I do okay with countries, but especially those little eastern states are hard!

Ha! That was funny.
I think you know where I live because you've been here. But then again...you didn't DRIVE here. Someone else did, as I recall. I didn't know how grateful I should have been, then, that you arrived safe and sound!

Us directionally challenged people have to stick together. Follow us we been lost there before.

It could not have been any worse than "I have a friend" that in playing one of the silly games where they ask you question in a group setting. What is the lowest US state? Her comment Alaska, you know, it is always in the corner on the bottom.

LOL, thats funny. I was that way about North, South, East and West, but geing a dispatcher has forced to me be aware of directions...now to the point of being anal about it

Well your Germany visitor is I! :) I guess there could be more than me, but I'm going to be vain and say it's me!! LOL

Now as to your friend and the Florida meeting, that's just so funny, hey there's beaches! LOL

you failed to mention my trip to "the beach" in Gatlinburg . . . funny, but not quite as funny as the FLA suggestion . . maybe your friend in Tennessee is still looking for the beaches . ..

hee hee hee! I too am geographically challenged. So, just so you know where I am...that would be California.

If you head in the direction where the sun sets tonight and just keep going for about 1500 miles or so...hmm, or maybe more..I guess I am distance challenged too!

I don't want to be sexist, but it seems as though, IN GENERAL, this may be a male/female thing. My husband and I would have been doing the same thing. He knowing, me....well, guessing!

The large red dot in the lower middle is most likely South Africa. Check with Marci as to whether some of Sean's relatives are visiting your site! HLR
