Thankful Thursday... a day late.

I am thankful today for a seemingly insignificant thing. Something that requires little concern or prayer. Something that is partly covered by insurance but fully repaired with cash.

Today I am thankful that B-Boy's teeth are on their way to the land of STRAIGHT. You see- despite the fact that we prayed all our children would get Paul's teeth genes... B-boy has most certainly received every bit of his teeth from ME. Booooo!

So at the young age of 8, I took him to the Orthodontist and told them I wanted his treatment plan accelerated because our goal is to enroll him in school this fall and I would like to eliminate all teasing options up front.

And so yesterday, on Thankful Thursday, my son received the "CONTRAPTION" he'll have to wear 16 hours a day for the next 15 months. We kindly refer to his appliance as "the Beast". Poor little guy.

To fully gain your empathy... I've provided pictures.

Enjoy these teeth now... they're leaving.

A visual of "the Beast"

B-Boy all applianced up.

It'll be a trial for a while, but worth it in the end!

I bet it costs as much as an appliance too! ;o)

That looks mighty uncomfortable.
Bless you for being thankful. :)
That's why we love you, Chelle'.

Josh had to wear something like this. It was glued in and it kept him from closing his mouth all the way (his teeth never touched). He wore it 5 months and is now wearing braces.

I feel for b-boy but it wont last forever

What a precious thing! And what a great mom for being proactive with his darlin' teeth. In a perfect world kids wouldn't be so cruel, huh?

So glad you are playing along on the Garden Tour...It's changed to June 13th just in case you didn't see! That way everyone will be warm and can plant by then..

Oh my that is some kind of retainer! My son just got his 2nd set of braces on his top teeth! In 2 months he gets the bottom set! I have to admit I like braces more then retainers! Retainers tend to get broken, uh let's say at least twice! Feeling your pain!
