My Thoughtful Daughter...

This morning I took the children for breakfast at Bob (H)Evans. (Yes, we call it Bob Heavens... if you've ever had my cooking you'd call it "Heaven" too...)

I digress...

Anyway, they each ordered their meals and instead of bacon or sausage (as they are not allowed to have commercial breakfast meats because of the preservatives) I asked for bowls of grapes. Only two bowls arrives so B-boy took a few from each bowl and continued drawing. I watched K-girl come to her last grape, look around, and pop it into her mouth. She didn't bite it, chew it, or even roll it around. It was just big as a basketball inside her cheek.

I waited a few seconds to see if she had a plan but she said nothing. I waited a bit longer and she came out with this...

"I'mpfhf.... sabing dthes gwaape ver bwenddn."

(Translation-"I'm saving this grape for B-boy.")

I laughed immediately. The boys didn't know why I was laughing because she had mumbled that statement.... surely they couldn't understand her. I asked her to tell them again.

She repeated but as I said, it was just the rambling of a thoughtful, though misguided little girl.

I told the boys and of course they too laughed, uncontrollably.

The kicker... K-girl didn't know what was funny. She really thought she could save that grape for B-boy when he was ready for it.
